Length of Position: 12 months

Description: The course contains plenty of input on teaching skills, grammar and pronunciation, together with course assignments focusing on materials design and one-to-one teaching as well as the chance to observe experienced teachers throughout the course. In addition, there are a series of unknown language lessons designed to give you an insight into what it is really like to be a learner. We aim to give you the broadest possible basis within a short course for your continued development as an EFL teacher. The course is intensive, involving evening and weekend work in addition to daytime study; you will be informed of your progress through regular tutorials.

The EF Certificate in TEFL course price is 875 GBP and for those candidates willing to commit to a 12-month contract with an EF school in China, Indonesia or Russia, they get the subsidised price of 575 GBP.

Qualifications: EF's TEFL Certificate centers on at least six hours of observed teaching practice - you will learn about the most up-to-date communicative language teaching techniques and have the opportunity to practice these with classes of young adult students under the supervision of our highly experienced team of trainers. The simple premise being that, with positive feedback - languages are learned by using them and language teaching is learnt by teaching real EFL (ESL) students. Qualified and experienced EFL Teacher Trainers will guide you through the most up-to-date approaches to English language teaching, with the focus very much on getting your learners to communicate as swiftly and as effectively as possible.

Cost in US$: Roughly equivalent to $1000 USD (for candidates committing to 12-month contracts with EF in China, Indonesia, Russia or Saudi Arabia)

Salary / Pay: Free flights and a salary equivalent to that of a well-paid, local manager are standard for all locations. In addition, candidates placing in China, Indonesia or Saudi Arabia will be given free accommodation (shared with other teachers).
