Description:
Participants live with a Spanish family and teach their native language (English, German, French or Italian) in exchange for room and board. Participants will generally be asked to work an average of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, providing lessons and conversation in their native language. This may be more or less formal, depending upon the family. Participants will have weekends and the rest of the time free to sightsee, learn about Spanish culture, and make new friends.
Highlights:
Accommodations: Participants will be given a single room and meals at their host family's house, in exchange for their work. Orientation: We will send participants pre-departure orientation materials to help them prepare for their time in Spain, as well as provide suggestions on teaching ESL. We also recommend that participants research ESL teaching methods and lesson plans so that they are well-prepared upon their arrival. Network of Friends: Throughout their stays, participants will be provided with the name and email addresses of the other Language Assistants in the area. This offers participants an instant network of people they can ask for advice, socialize with, or travel around Spain with. Also Included: * Pre-departure orientation materials * Placement in a Spanish family where you will work as a Language Assistant * Room and board in exchange for your work contribution of 15 hours per week * Contact information of other Language Assistants in your area * Travel Medical Insurance * Full-time local representative in Spain * 24/7 personal support * Certificate of completion (upon request)
