Qualifications: Candidates must have recognized teaching English as a foreign language certification, like the EF Certificate in TEFL, which contains a minimum of 6 hours observed teaching practice (equivalent qualifications like Trinity Cert. TESOL or CELTA are also acceptable). EFL classroom experience is also desirable, but not essential. In some cases, extensive relevant TEFL experience can be considered in lieu of formal TEFL qualifications. Candidates should be motivated, enthusiastic and open to new experiences. EF English First offers TEFL training in several locations in the UK, Spain, the Czech Republic and South Africa for candidates not meeting the above requirements.
