Length of Position: Choose 5 or 10 months

Description: The CIEE Teach in Thailand program places individuals just like you in paid semester or year positions teaching English at primary or secondary schools in urban, town or rural locations. Anywhere you teach in Thailand, you will have the opportunity to learn Thai customs, share your own way of life, travel on your time off, and bolster your resume with international work experience!

Program Specifics
* School levels: primary, secondary
* School locations: Urban, town, and rural
* Typical teaching load: 22 classroom hours weekly (about 40 hours/week including planning, faculty meeting, and extra-curricular activity time)
* Contracts: Four semester and year-long options (see below for more details)

Orientation
Orientation is provided by long-time CIEE partner, OEG. Over the course of a week spent in Bangkok, you will get to know the OEG staff well and build a relationship with their support network that is available to you throughout your time in Thailand. During the week, relationships are forged , travel plans made, and visits promised. You will leave for your teaching placement with connections throughout Thailand!

Orientation provides:
* Airport pick up on designated arrival date and time in Bangkok
* Classes on TEFL theory and practice, language training, and local culture
* Accommodations and most meals
* Sightseeing trips
* Transportation from orientation to your host institution

Location
CIEE places participants in areas all around Thailand but a significant number of our partner schools are located in the Bangkok vicinity, and central and northern provinces of Thailand. We do not place anyone in the southern provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Satun and Songkhla.

*       Two Semesters: USD 1,900

Qualifications: You do not need to be a teacher with extensive international experience to apply! Whether youre major was art history, zoology, or anything in between; if you have a good attitude and solid work ethic, your academic background will serve you well in the classroom - this time from the teachers side of the desk. It's essential that participants are self-motivated, responsible and recognize that their first priority is to their school and their teaching assignment. 110% commitment to the program is essential.

Basic eligibility requirements include:
*      Bachelors degree in any major
*      U.S. citizenship: native English language fluency
*      Teaching experience or TEFL certification preferred but not required
