Volunteer and Internship Programme Nepal

Description: VEEP NEPAL is a non-profitable, non-governmental social development organization, which is working in rural areas of Nepal. It aims to tap the youth, school kids and community people to make them involve in national development as well as to achieve its goals basically in the field of environment awareness raising, health and sanitation awareness and educational development and the activities concerned with people's real need.

VEEP NEPAL is legally registered as non-governmental organization and affiliated with the social welfare council. We create a favorable environment and assistance for those who want to render their services to Nepal. VEEP NEPAL also provides language lessons and cultural information to people who come to Nepal to study, to conduct research and above all to the voluntary work. We send trained volunteers to remote areas in order to raise awareness about environmental issues, primary health and sanitation awareness.

We have many rural locations in Nepal where we can place volunteers anywhere from one month to 5 months. Volunteers opportunities exists in: teaching conversational English in the local school; creating awareness about basic health issue; environmental issues, sanitation issues, building business skills and self-confidence. During this time volunteers will benefit from cross-cultural experiences through the home-stay program.

Qualifications: Volunteer must speak english language, or people who have english as a second can apply for the programme and there is not any age bar volunteer under 18 need no objcetion letter form thier parents. For the Cultural programme there is not any Language and Age bar. people form any country can apply for this programme.

Cost Include Description:
VEEP Nepal is totally funded by volunteers program fees. Program fees are as follows:

2 weeks USD 300
1 month USD 350
1 and half months USD 400
2 months USD 450
2 and half months USD 550
4 months USD 650
5 months USD 750

* Extra Administrative charge USD 150 for each program, non- refundable.

The above costs include the following:

Transportation to and from Kathmandu Airport.
Transportation to and from village placement.
Accommodation and meals during training period and placement.
Language and cultural information classes.
Special training according to the program.
VEEP staff visits to the placement.
In addition, you will be responsible for your flight tickets to Nepal and visa fees which are as follows:

USD 30 for the first two months
USD 50 per month thereafter for a maximum of 5 months per year.

Should you wish to spend more time in Kathmandu pre and post placement period, go trekking, and sight seeing etc. please remember to budget accordingly. These costs will not be covered by VEEP. Additionally, volunteers are responsible for any incidentals ( extra food, laundry, sodas etc) occurred during training and placement.

The program should be paid either in local currency or US dollar upon arrival in Kathmandu.

Typical Volunteer: Education Program:
Primarily, volunteers assist local English teachers in teaching conversational English in the school. This program aims to assist schools for their quality teaching by supplying volunteers, conducting school supporting programs.
Volunteers enrolling in this program are also expected to share their own teaching methodologies as well as helping the school teachers to develop their conversational English skills. Volunteers can teach English in community, youth groups and women's group and also teach those children who are unable to go to school.

Health & Sanitation Awareness Program:
Volunteers who have strong background or training in the primary health care may also work in the health post or health center. Volunteers can raise awareness by demonstrating related activities among rural people about health and sanitation.
People who are willing to experience on international health care can also apply for this program.

Nepalese culture study program:
The program is suitable for anybody, family, individual groups. There is no age bar for this program.

This Program is open to Families, Couples and Individuals

Every member of the team has participated in extensive local volunteer programs. The team members have particular experience in working with environmental and sustainability programmes. This involves educating villagers on wastage management as well as building smokeless stoves, pit lanterns, incinerators. The team has taught environmental science in schools and undertaken street environmental awareness programs. Our Organization VEEP NEPAL is formally registered non-governmental organization and is affiliated with the social welfare council. VEEP Nepal was established and run by experienced volunteers who have worked in various voluntary organizations. VEEP Nepal works in various fields such as environment, education, health and sanitation in different rural areas of Nepal. VEEP Nepal mobilizes volunteers to motivate the youth, school kids and community people to make them participate in National Development.
