Dynamic Primary Teachers
Honduras
Description:
The work can be exceptionally rewarding. You will be responsible for guiding 15-25 children in the adventure in education. The principle goal is to help them learn to think, communicate and work in English (Spanish language instruction is the responsibility of our Honduran teaching staff). There are quite a few teaching materials and classroom books available, and a basic curriculum is in place.
Highlights:
Teachers are guaranteed the gratification of helping disadvantaged children climb out of poverty. The moments where students make connections, hand you a flower, make full sentences in English or create a beautiful work of art make it all worthwhile!
Qualifications:
We are looking for innovative and energetic ESL primary teachers to make up our international multi-cultural team for the 2008-2009 school year. While the majority of our teachers have experience teaching, we do consider applications from those who have had experience working with children in other capacities. We are most interested in individuals who have enthusiasm, are flexible, work well in group situations and above all have a love for teaching children. It is also very helpful for teachers to have some experience teaching English as a Second Language.
Salary / Pay: We pay for accommodation, household expenses, local telephone and internet and good food. We try to cover other incidentals depending on budget.
Experience Required: yes
While no specific experience is required, the majority of our teachers do have some experience teaching. We encourage applications from anyone who has had experience working with children in any capacity. We are most interested in individuals who have enthusiasm, are flexible, work well in group situations and above all have a love for teaching children. It is helpful for teachers to have some experience teaching English as a Second Language although a strong desire for this experience is the most important qualification.
