Length of Position: One Year Contracts

Description: The Sam Marsalli English Language Institute is the only American owned and operated Institute in Chile with personnel from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK.

The Sam Marsalli English Institute is currently hiring native speakers as ESL teachers. No experience necessary, we train all incoming teachers according to our methodology. Classes are generally small groups of 8-12 adult, working professionals. Our Language Company has been in the business for 30 years and we have institutes located in Santiago, Concepcion, and Antofagasta, Chile. The average teacher salary provides a comfortable middle class lifestyle in Chile. We process work visas for our teachers once they have arrived in Chile. There is a minimum of a 6 month to 1 year contract (renewable). We are looking for responsible, punctual, amiable people, who may not have formal experience with language studies but are good communicators.

Qualifications: We only hire native English speakers as teachers. We prefer people who are not teachers and who have very little teaching experience.

We look for communication skills in the applicants' background that would demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with people. We want to be sure this person would be "thrilled" when his (her) students are successful and have compassion and ability to motivate them when necessary. We look for some work experience, regardless of the field, which can indicate acceptance of job responsibilities.

Teachers must be prepared to be placed in either Santiago, Concepcion or Antofagasta.

The placement will be determined at the end of the training program depending on the Institutes current needs. All our contracts are for 1 full calendar year.

Teachers must be prepared to work split shifts plus 2 Saturday mornings per month.

Minimum Education: Associates

Salary / Pay: Teachers are paid on a per class taught basis. The net income will provide for a comfortable Chilean middle class lifestle.
