Description:
At Imagination Ink we believe in promoting a healthy multicultural environment and intercultural awareness globally as well as within our community. Although there has always been some diversity within Japan it has not always surfaced or been respected by society at-large. Our goal is to raise intercultural awareness and respect for others so that diversity may flourish peacefully. We try to accomplich this through education, arts & entertainment. Second (foreign) language learning is one way we can promote cross-cultural understanding. We serve the West Shizuoka area with language teacher outsourcing to various corporations, businesses, schools, and events. We also provide Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) to various public junior high schools, elementary, and kindergartens in the area. We do our best to provide a family-like atmosphere for our instructors and students and do not believe in over-extending ourselves or becoming a large system driven entity. Our approach is to work locally, think locally, and build up the community with people who care about our area. Intercultural training and workshops are another way we work toward intercultural understanding. Professional trainers and coaches are available for corporate training, and workshops are periodically conducted for community professionals, teachers, and the general public.
Highlights:
Education is just part of our philosophy, we also believe we must reach people at a grassroots level and thus include promoting local artists, entertainers, and events management. Cultural diversity can be readily exerpienced through art exhibitions, international food fairs, and other events. By promoting such events, we can provide a vital first step in an 'ethnocentrically safe' environment for local people to experience the diversity some places in the world take for granted.
