Our EFL posts are given out at a centrally-located, up-market school located in the heart of Madrid in a 19th century palace. Based on your qualifications and a personal interview you will be guaranteed a spot even if you have no experience in the field or are not a native English speaker.

We believe that even teachers with TEFL certificates but no prior work experience encounter a great gap between the practical and theoretical aspects of teaching often hindering their initial success in the classroom.

This program prepares you for all those practical classroom issues that arise for new trained teachers with no experience, or participants who think they would like to teach but have no degree or certificate.

You have two choices:
A) Spanish Course + EFL Certificate Training Program (2.5 months to 6 months)
B) Spanish Course + Paid EFL Internship (4 - 6 months)

Both programs let you buff up your experience and ease yourself into the routine of teaching before handling a class alone. We will place you in a top-notch language school where you will shadow experienced professionals to learn those daunting aspects of classroom management, material development, cultural or phonetic idiosyncrasies which are never addressed in TEFL or teaching English courses.

One needs neither Spanish nor experience to apply. All candidates begin with an intensive Spanish language classes for 2 weeks (40 lessons) to help you adapt, followed by an internship with 40 hours of in-class shadowing and workshops on EFL teaching methodology. After this initial training period you are evaluated and either continue with another training session or go into a teaching post with 60% salary (gross 488 euros/month).

We are not an employment agency but our posts are often a stepping stone to employment within the fields of business English, adult EFL or children's EFL in Madrid. We give you the opportunity to get your foot in the door and to ease yourself into living in Europe.

Highlights: Included in our fee is: Full coverage medical and accident insurance; Intensive Spanish course at our downtown, fully-equipped language school for 4 hours/day, 5 days a week, 2 weeks; Intern placement in EFL; Housing reservation and screening service; Limited bureaucracy; Non-competitive admission; Tutor for academic and professional affairs; Testing, certificates, materials, texts and limited free Internet access while at the school; Screening of all companies; Airport transfers; Local phone, fax and e-mail data will be provided in case of need; Orientation packet: includes tourist info, city information, transportation and communication details -- including a map and explanation of the Metro in Madrid, etc.; Membership in an International Friendship club that organizes activities and many free services and discounts.

Qualifications: The posts are open to either fully qualified and experienced EFL teachers or students wishing to gain crucial experience in the field. The conditions vary according to your qualifications and experience. You need not be a native speaker, nor speak Spanish to apply. You must be at least 18 years of age. The minimum committment is 3 months, with an option to renew.

We believe that one year of experience abroad is worth 5 years of experience in any type of academic activity.
