Volunteers:
- For any teacher wishing to stay for a shorter time in China or for any teacher not feeling the confidence or in possession of sufficient qualifications to join the Teach in China program, our Volunteer Program provides the flexibility and peace of mind as we tailor it to each and every applicant. Volunteer opportunities last from 5 to 20 weeks.

Other Details:
- The locations will vary depending on the time of the year
- Most volunteers will be placed in the countryside to help the needy communities.
- Volunteer positions do not always involve teaching
- Volunteers do not have to be Native English speakers. However, you are expected to be fluent.
- In some cases, you might be asked to cover some of your fees.
- New Times does not believe in making a profit out of the volunteers. We just feel a moral obligation to use our resources in helping our community.
- Salary of 2000-4000 RMB per month for around 18 hrs teaching a week.

You will receive:

1. Training in teaching techniques, which also covers some Chinese language and culture.
2. Apartment with paid utilities or a home-stay with a Chinese family.
3. Medical insurance and care in the school clinic as provided to local teachers (in most cases).
4. Weekly Chinese language classes (in some cases).
5. Visa extension expenses.
6. Sightseeing tours to nearby points of interest during your vacation time.
7. Pick up at the airport.
8. Certificate from New Times International Volunteer Association.

Homestay:
- For those wishing to experience China from a different angle, we offer a Homestay Program, enabling those who wish to sample true Chinese culture and lifestyle to reside with a Chinese family for up to a year. We have more than 20 vetted families around China, all of these among the elite of their respective cities, which would be happy to welcome foreigners with an interest in China in their midst.

Highlights: Our services include:
- Free pick-up at Beijing Airport and free accommodation in Beijing
- Choice of schools offered to our teachers at all levels of education
- A choice of 6 or 12 month positions
- Contact schools offering salaries ranging from 3500 to 6000 RMB per month
- Our follow-up service includes support available 24 hours a day to our teachers, a monthly newsletter and check-up on our teachers
- Reimbursement of a single leg of your airfare upon completion of a six month contract (usually up to 4000 RMB) and of a round-trip ticket upon completion of a year-long contract (usually up to 8000 RMB)
- A degree or TEFL certificate are strongly preferred yet we consider all applications

Qualifications: Teach in China Program:

Although a Bachelor's degree or a TEFL certificate are strongly preferred, we will not reject any application solely on these grounds. Teaching experience is also naturally a bonus. We also humbly regret that we cannot accept applications of teachers below the age of 16 and above the age of 65.

Volunteer Program:

The flexibility of the Volunteer Program being its strength, the criteria for entrance are freer with no constraints except for being above the age of 16 years old.
