Trainees while in the program should submit to IICA's Headquarters monthly activities forms, initial adjustment survey, arrival questionnaire, host-check and trainees-check each two months, and must write after 20 days of arrival the teaching/training objectives. They will then describe plans and what they will do to develop a nice job in order to help host-schools levels of teaching. Through the forms trainees submit every month, they will gain a certain amount of credits which will be given to them as soon as the forms arrive so they can coordinate and control their score and see how their performance is doing. The trainee-teachers should be interested in giving suggestions to School's Director of Courses such as what would work better for the student's learning. IICA will send weekly, special magazines and other publications to trainees to be updates and have new ideas and learn new techniques about teaching English to foreigners. Academic Dep't. of IICA will send regular online lessons via email so trainees could improve in classes day by day.
Highlights:
Highlights are several, and experiences the trainee face sometimes are for lifetime and unforgettable. There are trainees who arrive and gets shocked with his placement and the city he will live in. Some are placed in remote city in the Amazon and have a fun experience in taking boats to go to places, fishing, going into the jungle and have a fantastic experience with wild animals, etc. Trainees will also find friendly people to live with since Brazilians are simple, modest and humble. Food is also found strange by many but they eventually get used to exotic Brazilian dishes. It is also interesting and very usual to see that many trainees fall in love with a Brazilian girl and get married to them! A trainee must be prepared to see things he does not expect to see. Indeed, to be a trainee-teacher in Brazil is a very amazing experience - one you are not likely to forget! Many of the participants try to get an extension of their Visa when they finish their program but unfortunately the stay cannot be longer than 12 months. Come to Brazil through ETP/ESL program and have a fun and lifetime experience!
