TEFL International School in Sydney, Australia
Australia
Dates: Please inquire for specific dates.
Description:
Taking a TEFL course in Sydney is an attractive proposition for English speakers who would like to further their qualifications and experiences by teaching English in Australia, Asia and beyond. A cosmopolitan city with a multi cultural feel and a population of 4.5 million, Sydney instantly produces images of the world famous harbour and Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach and traditional Aboriginal art. Australia is a country with a young heart and a youthful people, full of energy and a Mediterranean zest for life. Here you are never without a friend, such is the open nature of Australians and their hospitality towards strangers. Sydney itself epitomizes all that is Australian, and is the country's largest and most visited city; one could say the de facto capitol of Australia. Around ten million visitors come to Sydney every year to enjoy its magnificent beaches, cultural and historical attractions, national parks, wildlife and nightlife, and simply to enjoy the interesting culture of Australia's largest city. As a first world country and developing nation combined, Australia is one of a kind. Sydney is at the forefront of the country's development and its oldest city. Here you will find a melting pot of cultures, creating an all-round international feel. It seems all nations are represented in Sydney, each with their own little quarters. Little Italy, little England, China Town, Korea Town, Spanish Town, and Middle-Eastern quarters are just some of the many nations and nationalities represented in this, the most diverse of all Australian cities. Why? * The course. Our main aim and focus is to provide you with all the necessary information, skills and experience that you will need to begin teaching English as a Foreign Language and the most memorable experience possible in this tropical paradise. * The school. Excellent facilities in a fully air-conditioned, modern, architect-designed building. * Your teaching practice will be teaching Japanese, Korean, European and other non-native English speaking students of English. We have large and small groups with genuine students. * The people. A friendly, hospitable cosmopolitan population.
Highlights:
Spend some time on Bondi Beach, watch the surf crowd hang loose, take in the magical scenery, the day-life, the night-life, cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops. In Sydney, you will meet people from all corners of the globe taking in the sun, relaxing and enjoying beach life, the beach bars and the infectious feel-good factor of sun, sea and sand, Aussie style. See kangaroos, koalas, and other Australian animals at Sydney Wildlife World of Sydney Zoo. Like history? Then you will be surprised in Sydney. Enjoy splendid 18th and 19th century colonial architecture, the Aboriginal Arts Centre, the old world of the QVB (Queen Victoria Building), and take a trip back in time at the Rocks - 21st century pleasure in a 200 year-old setting. Take in some of Sydney's 15 museums and galleries, including the National Gallery and the National Museum. Such a cosmopolitan setting of course means plenty of international festivals, each community honouring time-old traditions of celebration and thanksgiving. Nightlife in Sydney is second to none: thousands of bars, clubs and restaurants can be found here, with many international and local dishes to enjoy. Combine all Sydney's assets and you have a city that stands out nationally and in the whole southern hemisphere. Blessed with year round sunshine, there is no "wrong time" to take a TEFL course in Sydney. Even during the coldest months of winter, the average daily sunshine is six hours. The seasons here are reverse to those in the northern hemisphere, with the high summer months from December to February, and the main winter months of June to August. Springtime traditionally begins in September, bringing with it festivals and shows. As Christmas is in the middle of the high summer months, parties and celebrations last until the New Year. To back up the festivities, Australia Day is on January 26th. Expect no shortage of parties and famous Australian barbies during the summer, especially during the party season.
