Description:
Staff members at the school have the unique opportunity of working in a collaborative environment and participating in the decision making process of an evolving school. Faculty meetings are held once a week to evaluate student progress, develop curriculum, and engage in sharing best practices in educational research. Five professional days are slotted throughout the year in order to best utilize the mentoring support provided by Purdue. While our present focus is assuring the quality of education at the school, the ABSS aspires to be a training ground for Honduran teachers. Dedicated professionals who join the schools staff will play an important role in the consolidation of a unique and special school.
Highlights:
The Alison Bixby Stone School has a social mission of providing scholarships to children from economically disadvantaged homes in the surrounding villages. It also has a social mission of providing training for Honduran teachers. Shared housing and a truck are provided.

A teaching certificate or license, preferably with two years experience.

Our location at Zamorano, an Agricultural University, provides opportunity for students to learn by doing. Our scholarship fund provides support to 30% of our students and ensures a socio-economically diverse student population.
