Description:
EF English First is recruiting teachers to work in its state-of-the-art educational centres in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Both centres teach a range of ages and levels with a concentration on younger learners (under 14 years of age). EF is committed to the professional development of all its staff and all teachers are: - Enrolled on a comprehensive Induction Programme - Offered Support from the Academic Managers when planning lessons - Observed and given feedback by an experienced Academic Manager - Required to attend teacher development seminars and workshops A standard curriculum is provided for each of our courses, however teachers are encouraged to adapt and supplement the content to meet the needs of their individual classes. Teachers have access to a library of supplementary course materials, flashcards and multimedia resources to make their classes as dynamic and interactive as possible. Teachers work a forty-hour working week, of which a maximum of twenty hours are contact teaching during the non-peak season and twenty-six hours during the peak season (July/August/January/February). The remaining time is dedicated to lesson preparation, conducting placement interviews for new learners, attending professional development workshops and assisting in the occasional marketing activity (e.g. providing a demonstration class in a local primary school).

Qualifications:
Candidates must have recognized teaching English as a foreign language certification, like the EF Certificate in TEFL, which contains a minimum of 6 hours observed teaching practice (equivalent qualifications like the CELTA or SIT TESOL are also acceptable). EFL classroom experience is also desirable, but not essential. In some cases, extensive relevant TEFL experience can be considered in lieu of formal TEFL qualifications. Candidates should be motivated, enthusiastic and open to new experiences.
