Year-long Volunteer Teacher in Bangladesh

WorldTeach volunteers will be teaching at the Access Academy, an intensive English and Quantitative Reasoning preparatory year for poor, rural, and refugee women from South and Southeast Asia who have been accepted to the new Asian University for Women. This exciting university located in Chittagong, Bangladesh, will open in September of 2009. The Access Academy opens for the first group of students in March 2008. Students will study intensive English, math, and computer science for 18 months in preparation for their university experience. This competitive program is limited to 15 volunteers. Unlike any other WorldTeach program, all 15 volunteers in the Bangladesh program will be teaching at the same school.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree (in any subject) * Must a native English speaker * Comfortable working in cross-cultural environments * Independent worker * Good people skills and organizational skills * Flexibility and creativity in problem solving * Interest in international education and development * 25 hours ESL service required before departure (after acceptance to the program).

Cost Include Description:
Program Cost includes: pre-departure information and preparation, round-trip international airfare, health insurance, in-country orientation and training, transportation to your site, meals and housing during orientation and throughout your teaching service, a living stipend throughout your service, 24-hour field support, after-service support and networking, and a living stipend of $350 per month.
Salary / Pay: In addition to housing, volunteers will receive a living stipend of $350 per month.
