Math Teacher Needed in Lanzarote
Spain
- All Other Areas:
Canary Islands
Length of Position: 1 term (3 months)
Description:
We seek a Math teacher who is available now to work at a private international school in beautiful Lanzarote, Spain. A vacation paradise off the coast of Africa, belonging to Spain, the successful candidate must possess an EU passport, have training and experience to teach maths at secondary level. UK experience is highly desired. Spanish schools pay about 22,000 euro/year so you will not get rich in Lanzarote, but you will have an enough to live on, an amazing life style and a great little 'working holiday' teaching at a school with small class sizes and no behaviour problems (it's a private, fee-paying, UK curriculum school). About Lanzarote Lanzarote is situated just 70 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian', so much so that parts of 'Planet of the Apes' were shot here. Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua. A lively tourist destination, Lanzarote has several beautiful white beaches such as at Playa Blanca and Papagayo. Quieter than Ibiza, there are many bars, restaurants and clubs from which to choose including Scottish, English Irish and Hawaiian themed pubs! Don't have an EU passport?
