Description: Full-time jobs for qualified English teachers in Czech Republic. We are now accepting applications for the 2008-2009 academic year (start dates in September 2008).

Caledonian teachers earn on a per lesson taught basis. Therefore, the more lessons taught, the more money earnt. Be realistic however; though the Czech Republic has made great strides since 1989, and especially after their accession to the European Union in 2004, the salaries here are still substantially lower than in Western Europe and the USA. Nevertheless, it is important to distinguish between the sum you will earn when converted into your home currency and what the sum in Czech crowns will actually buy you here.

In short:

* We offer full time contracts between a minimum 20 and maximum 26 lessons per week. The contracts are open-ended meaning that no end date is specified.
* A full time teacher can expect to earn from 16,000-20,000 Czech crowns (Kc) (US $1,000-1,250 per month) before tax
* This will enable you to have a modest standard of living, in line with that enjoyed by the average native Czech person
* Many teachers supplement their earnings by taking private students

Qualifications: We are especially interested in teachers with Cambridge exam preparation teaching experience.
