Description: Every year Language Link, Russia offers extensive TEFL employment opportunities to around 200 native English speakers. Language Link has over 10 years experience of bringing EFL teachers to Russia, and we are considered one of the top language schools operating in Russia today. Our schools are located in more than 10 cities throughout Russia. For the independent traveler, getting to Russia can be a minefield of red-tape, but at Language Link we simplify the task and help our teachers every step of the way: we provide accommodation, a visa invitation and registration, medical services and continual academic support.

Language Link Russia offers its students a range of courses in General and Business English to Adults and children. Teachers may be involved in any of the following areas of our academic programme:

- General English
- Business English & ESP
- Young Learners
- Internationally recognized examinations
- Testing & Evaluation

Students study either in small groups (maximum class size 12 students), or on a one-to-one basis. The classes take place either in one of our teaching centres, or in-company.

General English

Within the General English Department we run 11 levels of general English classes from absolute beginners to Advanced Plus. In some centres we also run Cambridge exam classes from First Certificate to Proficiency, and TOEFL / IELTS preparation courses. Groups are divided into three categories: adults, teenagers & young learners and students take classes for 6 hours per week. A teaching framework is provided for each level and teachers are supplied with course books and relevant supplementary materials.

Business English & ESP

We offer our Business English clients a range of programmes from Elementary to Advanced level. Programs are tailored towards the clients' needs and include Business Communication Skills or short courses focusing on specific areas, e.g. Telephoning, Business Writing, Presentation Skills. In consultation with the director of studies, teachers design their own courses and are supported with relevant course books and supplementary materials. Students are currently offered preparation courses leading to English language examinations offered by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) in the major centers.

Young Learners

Courses for children & teenagers at Language Link follow a syllabus that has been especially designed to suit the needs of children and teenagers at all levels of proficiency and age groups. Through our close links with teachers in local primary and secondary schools, our courses not only aim to give students more confidence and practice in the areas studied within their own schools but also to improve their language skills particularly with regard to speaking, listening, reading and writing. In all our classes we strive to provide a balance of activities and understand that children learn at different speeds and have different interests. With this in mind, lessons, projects and tests have been designed, and are regularly updated by the Language Link Children's team. These are used alongside a wide variety of leading published materials.

Testing & Evaluation

Language Link has developed a comprehensive Language Assessment service for both current students & external clients ' TELIP (Test of English for International Purposes). This entails an examination in Language Use and the key language skills: Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking. To enable our clients to use TELIP as proof of language proficiency for teachers, school/university departments, and employers, Language Link offers three specific types of TELIP:

TELIP A: General English for school students
TELIP B: General English for Adults
TELIP C: Business English for university-level students and business professionals

Qualifications: Teachers wishing to apply for these openings should be native English speaking and hold any of the following TEFL qualifications: RSA/ Cambridge or Trinity College London Certificate, or equivalent; or, RSA/ Cambridge Diploma or Trinity College Licentiate Diploma; or, PGCE with TEFLA/ TESOL University degree or equivalent.

Applicants with relevant university diplomas (English, journalism, linguistics, etc.) or relevant EFL experience may waiver TEFL or TESOL qualifications.

Qualifications are important but they are only one of the elements that make a successful teacher. Just as important are:

Personality:

Much an EFL teacher's success results from his or her ability to be flexible, open-minded and outgoing. Equally important is a keen interest in other peoples and cultures and an empathy for the needs of students.

Commitment:

You will never be an exceptional teacher until you understand and accept the concept that teaching is an investment in your future; thus, it requires your time and energy. A willingness to work hard and see the job as a significant step in a long-term career, either in or outside EFL is essential. So, too, is a willingness to give of oneself and one's skills to people who are depending upon them. No less important is a willingness to learn from one's students as well as to teach them.

Languages :
  • English
Languages Used as a Medium of Teaching:
  • English
