As of right now, effective December 15th, the Korean Government will require all applicants of an E2 visa will be required to provide a criminal background check from a city police station, a self health check list, as well as (for first time applicants) an interview with a Korean embassy in your home country along with your original degree and official "sealed" transcripts. These specifications are changing daily and we will keep you posted, but for now please obtain all of the stated documents and prepare accordingly for the previous requirements. If you have a question about these changes please feel free to inquire. In addition, for first time applicants you will no longer be able to come to Korea and obtain a job first (and then go to Japan for a visa run), you must apply in your home country. Job Description & Contract - Length of Contract E-2 Visas require contracts to be for one year/Short term contracts are also available. - Location We have job offers all over Korea. If there is a special area you'd like to work, or if you have preferences like small cities, big cities, or somewhere near a coast, please let us know and we will let you know as soon as a job becomes available somewhere you'd like. Seoul City Bu-san City Daegu City Ulsan City Gwang-ju City Dae-jeon City Gim-hae City Yang-san City Ma-san City Po-hang City Jin-ju City etc... - Qualifications To qualify for the E2 work visa and a teaching job as an ESL instructor, you must be an English native speakers, which means that you have to come from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa. You must also have a University degree. You are not required to have teaching qualifications, although having them will mean that you will be able to get better jobs. - Salary Your salary will be in the range of 2,000,000 ~ 2,200,000 won a month, depending on your qualifications and experience. You will be paid monthly, either directly in cash or to your Korean bank account. - Severance Pay At the completion of your 12-month contract, you will be entitled to a severance package of one months average salary. Some institute owners try to arrange 50 or even 51-week contracts in order to avoid this, but we refuse to refer any teachers to these. - Hours You will be expected to teach about 30 hours a week. Most jobs are from Mon to Friday. - Taxes Your employer will take out Korean taxes from your salary before giving them to you. - Medical Insurance Your employer will enroll you in the Korean Medical Insurance Union, which entitles you to the same rate for medical services and prescriptions as for Korean citizens (uninsured rates are much higher). - Housing The employer will provide furnished rent-free accommodation for your time in Korea, usually close to your place of employment or if not then close to public transportation. You will be expected to pay the utilities such as gas, water, and electricity yourself or with your flatmates. - Vacations You will be entitled to all Korean national holidays, and your employer is not allowed to deny you any of these. They usually come to about 13 days per year. In addition, you will be given usually about 10 days paid vacation for the duration of your contract. - Type of Students From Kindergarten to Middle school students Type1. Elementary - Middle school students: 2pm - 9pm (Your own schedule might start an hour later earlier or later, but it will still be only 7 hours) Type2. Kindergarten - Elementary school students: 10am - 6pm (See above) - Size of Classes average 10 - 15 students ========================================================== Please contact us and let us know what kind of job you would be interested in.
