Length of Position: 5 - 7 weeks

Description: Sunflower-Sprachcamps offers English and French holiday camps for German kids at the age of 7 to 15 in the region of the European capital of culture 2010, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The camps take place during the summer holidays of this region in youth clubs (day camps) and youth hostels (overnight camps). The program of the camps consists games (indoor games, outdoor games, language games), sports, arts and crafts, singing and dancing, theatre /sketches.

Special sport-camps, creative-camps and a Native-American camp take place this summer.

I am looking for tutors to lead the camps and teach English or French for German children aged 7-15. The camps run for 2-6 weeks. Our tutors teach in an interactive and fun way through games, songs, activities, etc. All materials are provided plus a free 5-day training course.

You should be an English native speaker or a bilingual French-English person with an outgoing character and a genuine interest in working with children. It isn't necessary to speak German. Preference is given to candidates with proficiencies in sports, theatre, dancing, singing and to Native Americans. You should be available from 10 July to 28 August 2010.

Sunflower-Sprachcamps's Mission Statement: Ms. Kreul launched the sunflower-Sprachcamps in April 2007. The aim is to give German children and teenager the opportunity to enjoy a week in an English enviroment without travelling far. The children may realize that learning and speaking another language means a lot of fun, and is more than just a subject in school. The camps take place in school vacation in the Ruhr Area and Dusseldorf (Northrhine Westphalia).
