* Nursery Class Teacher - Aug 08 * Reception Class Teacher - Aug 08 * To be an active member of the teaching team, teaching to the highest level and contribute to the all-round extra-curricular life of the school. To be flexible and adjust to the needs of a growing school, actively contributing to its development and growth. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: * Teach a class of pupils ensuring that planning, preparation, recording assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs. * Be responsible for the classroom ensuring that it is kept clean, bright and stimulating, as with designated display areas and notice boards. * Report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils. * Implement school policies and guidelines. * Keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative assessment into weekly and term planning. * Review the classroom curriculum annually and ensure that it is delivered through an effective timetable. * Meet challenging but realistic educational targets that demonstrate excellence in pupil academic progress. * Lead and guide support staff within the classroom. * Participate in meetings which relate to the school's management, curriculum, administration and organisation. * Participate in school trips and offer after-school activities as part of the school's extra-curricular programme. * Promote intercultural understanding and be flexible to specific cultural needs. * Participate in school trips and offer after-school activities as part of the school's extra-curricular programme. * Promote intercultural understanding and be flexible to specific cultural needs. * Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside of the classroom. * Develop constructive and professional relationships with teaching and non teaching staff, and parents. * Promote a culture of personal accountability and passion for education. * Share in promoting excellence in teaching; from productive teamwork to the self-monitoring and improvement of teaching standards in school. * In conjunction with the Principal and other staff, contribute to the establishment of best practices that can be shared.
Highlights:
This great opportunity is based in a well established day school for pupils aged 4 to 7 years. They teach English language to the highest standards through a full kindergarten academic curriculum. Their curriculum is the English National Curriculum. However, they adapt the National Curriculum requirements to meet the needs of their Korean student body. Their aim is to provide the best of English and Korean pre-school education, with the most effective English language training for the children. They will employ only fully qualified, trained, certified and experienced teachers who can meet the demanding goal of their school - to be the best! All class teachers will be certified in their home countries as teachers for the 4 to 7 year age group. Through intensive language training and a robust curriculum, the school will provide the very best start to all children for their future lives and academic careers. Teachers are recruited from the UK or international schools worldwide, have experience in the delivery of the National Curriculum of England and are of the highest calibre. Their teachers also have a variety of academic specialist skills, which are fully utilised in the school setting.
Qualifications:
* Teachers must be a native English speaker and hold a recognised teaching qualification with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience. * Experience of the British Curriculum is also preferred.

Salary / Pay: Salary approx 18,497 paid locally and subject to local taxes which are 9.2%. Economy flight to Seoul at start and end of contract, if the contract is renewed then also entitled to a return flight to take during the following school year. Korean Healthcare Insurance. Furnished accommodation and utility bills paid (to a capped amount). 8 weeks holiday, 5 weeks of which are during the school scheduled holidays. Plus Korean public holidays that fall outside of the school holidays (currently 6 days).
