Description: We are an international co-ed boarding school 4 hours from Nairobi, in the beautiful highlands of Kenya. Founded in the 1930s we are well established, well respected school. The school today has pupils from Kenya and East African surrounding countries, but also has a large ex-patriot population of students, many the sons and daughters of missionaries.
As the curriculum is broadly British and many of the teachers are British trained, pupils are often children of British families resident in Kenya.

A teacher of English is required to teach within this core subject area. He/she will teach English in each of Years 9 to 11. Students are prepared for IGCSE examinations in both English Language and English Literature.

The standard of English amongst most students is very good. However, for some students English is a second language and some have specific learning difficulties. Students are set by ability and it is likely that the teacher will teach students of different abilities across the three year groups.

It is likely that the person appointed will be required to teach a small number of other lessons, perhaps of Extra English (to those whose understanding of English is less secure), Learning Support, PSE or Religious Studies.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a teaching qualification for the appropriate subject and preferably at least one years' teaching experience.
