Typical Duration of Program: 3-6 months
Description:
Through Teach & Travel program we want to give the opportunity to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL, also called ESL, English as a second language) in Lima and other cities of Peru. * Education: We work closely with public educational institutions, as a support to teachers or teaching language skills, computer training, art, recreation and special education. What we ask of our future teachers is to be creative, patient, and learn to work with the minimum of resources. The majority of teaching positions are available for native English speakers, we do have two different programs. For those who are teachers and for those who are not, but are motivated to share and tutor Peruvians. If you want to travel and learn closely about Peruvian culture you can consider this program. "4 students", is for those who are not necessarily a certified English Teacher, and "4 Teachers", as the name of the program says, is for those who have the TEFL certificate and had experience teaching.

* Teachers: Work experience in Peru Being a teacher in a foreigner country will give you an experience of life. Traveling with out investing much money, and even earn some; you can give use to one of your best potentials. You will be able to share your knowledge and learn about different cultures. Your tutoring experience is more than enough. Instructors can find placements among Schools, Universities or English Institutes in different cities of Peru. English teachers, French teachers or any other specialty is welcome. Schedules will be different, depending on the placements but usually teachers will work 30 to 40 hours per week. * Students: Get closer to Peruvian culture by sharing a home with a Peruvian family Being an English tutor will give an experience of life. The tutors are available to remain 4, 6 or 8 weeks, starting any month during the year. Several families are already in a waiting list in different cities around Peru. Families have been carefully selected, and most of the time their kids have gone through one of our outbound programs and want to practice their English. This is an amused and educative cultural exchange. The tutor's work is to help any family member with conversational English and will be 15 hours a week, according to the schedule the tutor and family establishes. Tutoring can be to one or to all Peruvian family members. The used methodology is existential or conventional. For example: games, meals, outside the structured city or sessions.
