Description:
Global Campus Teaching Job is recruiting English teachers for public schools across Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Primarily, GEPIK (Gyeonggi English Program in Korea) teachers are required to conduct beginner to intermediate English classes at an assigned Gyeonggi school with a Korean co-teacher as a team. The GEPIK teachers are required to teach 22 classes (varying from 40 mins to 50mins) per week. There are other various extra curricular programs schools run such as English Day Camp, English Speech contest and quite often, English classes for the fellow Korean teachers. Gyeonggi province is the leading province in South Korea. Right now, there are more than 1,600 foreign English teachers, teaching at public schools in Gyeonggi province. Half of them renew contract for a second year. This number is growing every year. School Type: Elementary, Middle and High Public Schools Job Type: full-time; 1 year renewable contract Working Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. 22 hours of class instruction per week; over-time pay if teach more than 22 hours per week Salary Range: 2,000,000 ~ 2,500,000 KRW/month 20,000 KRW/hour of overtime bonus pay for each extra hour of class instruction. Benefits: * Free fully furnished apartment which is either near to school or subway * Round-trip Airfare * Settlement allowance of 300,000 won * Receiving 1 extra month's salary as a bonus upon completion of contract * Paid vacation for 20 working days (plus 5 more days for rural area position) * 50% of medical insurance * Daily transportation allowance depending on bus fare * No Income Tax for the first two years (except for Canadians)
Qualifications:
* Hold a minimum of Bachelors degree from an English speaking university in one of these countries: US, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand * Be a citizen and educated in one of those seven countries (same as above) Responsibilities: * Team Teaching with Korean instructors in their English classes. * Conducting English conversation classes for Korean students or teachers. * Preparing teaching materials and activities for English language education. * Assisting with activities related to English language education and other extracurricular activities.
