Elementary Teachers Needed in the Best School in Saudi Arabia

  Saudi Arabia
  • Other Cities in Saudi Arabia:
  • Jeddah

Length of Position: 2 year contract

Description: Jeddah Knowledge School (JKS) is a very well-known school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia recognized for its quality of education, well-rounded environment and spacious facilities. JKS was established first as a preschool with 20 students, and the current enrollment for this year has reached 1,130 students, ranging from Preschool to Grade 9 with a staff of over 220 employees.

JKS was the first Saudi (private) school in Jeddah to be accredited by the CITA (The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation) in alliance with WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and CIS in process. The accreditation committee cited JKS as an excellent and qualified school which is a model for other developing schools to follow. Additionally, as of September 2007, the school has received candidate status for the International Baccalaureate's (IB) Primary Years Program and Middle Years Program and is currently working on documentation for authorization for the Diploma Programme.

Sometimes there are many questions about working in Saudi Arabia, hence let me tell you that Jeddah is a very exciting and interesting place to live and work. Our school employs international teachers from around the world including citizens from the United Kingdom, United States, South Africa and Canada. The Heads of Elementary and Middle School sections of the school are both international educators with over 40 years of experience between them. All in all, I can truly say that I am privileged to work with such committed group of educators who view the students as their first priority.

Additionally, all contracted international staff has the added luxury of excellent fully equipped accommodation at an expatriate compound in Jeddah. Sharbatly Village is one of the premiere compounds in Jeddah and boasts tennis courts, swimming pools, on-site restaurants and grocery store, numerous activities, transportation to shopping and sea resorts, as well as many other extras. All internationally contracted staff will receive the following:

* Competitive tax-free salaries based on experience
* Excellent Accommodation (fully furnished housing at Sharbatly Village-very stylish and comfortable.)
* Ticket to point of origin annually.
* Medical insurance (thru BUPA, paid by the school)
* Free transportation ( to and from school)
* Continual Professional Development.

Highlights: Jeddah Knowledge School is fully committed to the IB philosophy and is eager for our students to enjoy all the educational benefits of the IB Programs. Although our top group of students is only grade 9 this year, we are preparing for their future well in advance. As a school we are also committed to providing the maximum opportunities for continued professional development for all of our staff members. As well as in-house trainings, the school sends staff members to local national and international workshops and conferences. During the last 12 months alone, more than 30 teachers, administrators, subject coordinators, and managers have been sent to IB workshops in Geneva, Dubai, Austin (Texas), Jordan, Kuwait, Bucharest, Singapore, Paris, and Istanbul. Further staff development opportunities have already been fully planned this academic year in all areas of the PYP, MYP, and DP.

Hopefully you will consider JKS as an opportunity. Our mission is to provide the best education possible for all students. A visit to our school profile will provide additional information about our school and benefits.
