Description: Teaching at Public Schools in Abu Dhabi

Teach Away Inc. has been officially selected by the Education Council in the United Arab Emirates to facilitate the recruitment of certified teachers for public schools located all across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the surrounding area. The successful candidates will enjoy working for a world-class program while teaching multiple subjects.

Locations
Teachers who are accepted to teach will be assigned to a public primary school within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi which is responsible for three regions: Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain, and Al Gharbia. All placement locations will be in urban or suburban settings. Teachers will not be placed in isolated placements due to difficulties in adjusting to life in the UAE.

Abu Dhabi is the second largest city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after Dubai. It is located on an island right on the Persian Gulf and offers beautiful climate year-round. Al Ain, the fourth largest city in the UAE is located right next to Oman and is known as the Garden City of the UAE.

Teaching subjects in Abu Dhabi
Most positions in Abu Dhabi public schools are teaching at a primary level. Therefore, teachers are required to teach a variety of subjects including English, Math, and Science.

Teachers can expect to save 60% to 70% of their salary

Highlights: Benefits Include
- Monthly Salary: 12,300-20,400AED, depending on experience and credentials;(approx. 4300-6000 CAD or 3350-5500 USD)

Teachers traveling with families will be provided with yearly airfare for up to 3 family members.

- Vacation
Abu Dhabi public school teachers will enjoy ample vacation time usually from mid-June to mid-August of each year. In addition, teachers are not required to work during any of the national holidays.

- Accommodation for teachers
All teachers working in public schools will be provided accommodation and a furniture allowance. Locations will vary depending on the actual work placement, but usually teachers should expect to live close to their teaching assignment.

Qualifications:
The following requirements are for all teaching jobs in Abu Dhabi offered through Teach Away Inc. In order to get the appropriate work permit and visa teachers need to meet the following requirements:
1. Native English speaker
2. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
3. Certified to teach in your state/province
4. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferred

Teachers who have an undergraduate degree but no teaching credentials will not be considered for teaching jobs in Abu Dhabi. Teaching English as a Second Language certificates cannot replace a teaching license. Accordingly, teachers with a TESL certificate or equivalent, alone, will not be considered.

Salary / Pay: Teachers in Abu Dhabi can expect to make between 12,300-20,400AED, depending on teaching experience and credentials. The Education Council in the UAE will inform successful teachers of their offered salaries after the interview. While exchange rates fluctuate, Abu Dhabi teachers typically make approximately 4000-6300/month Canadian, or 33500-5500/month American.
