Description:
Overview: The teacher exchange program places skilled and experienced international teachers in American classrooms. This program gives international teachers a unique opportunity to share their knowledge and culture as well as gain a valuable understanding of American culture, society, and teaching practices. Program Description: The Teacher Exchange Program provides the teacher with knowledge and experience in a U.S. public or private school, with the goal of promoting the interchange of ideas amongst American and foreign teachers. This is accomplished by daily interaction with American students and teachers in a host institution where they can participate actively in cross-cultural activities with Americans alongside their teaching. This program gives international teachers a unique opportunity to share their knowledge and culture. This program seeks to give the international teachers a better understanding of American culture, society and teaching practices and the primary and secondary level and then to return home and share their increased knowledge with family, friends and colleagues. Type of visa: J-1 visa Length of program: 1-3 years Participants profile: Applicants must meet the qualifications for teaching in primary or secondary schools in his or her country of nationality. Teachers must have a minimum of three years of teaching or related professional experience and be comfortable functioning in an English speaking environment. The average annual salary for Sawsee International Corp teachers ranges between 28,000 to 48,000 USD. Your salary will be determined by your years of teaching experience and by the policies of the district and state in which you teach. In some cases, teachers may receive a higher salary for advanced degrees or more experience. Sawsee works with the program sponsor to find the best match of school for the teacher. Sawsee and its partners offers screening, recruitment, and preparation of teachers. You will have access to full insurance coverage, processing of your paper work, and support 24/7 throughout the entire teaching program. The Teacher exchange program will offer you a unique opportunity to exchange cultural and professional knowledge with American counterparts. Teachers are usually in the USA for a one-year teaching assignment, though this is renewable for up to three years by agreement of both parties. The J-1 Teacher Program provides international participants with opportunities for professional experience and a good salary in the United States. The goal of the program is to provide professional training that assists the development of the participant's career, as well as providing dedicated service and adding cultural diversity to the host school. Upon completion of the program, teachers are expected to return home to share their experience with others in their field and contribute to the educational development of their own country. Teachers are offered the same pay as their American counterparts. Legal spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 may be eligible to accompany you to the U.S. on a J-2 Visa.
Highlights:
School Organization: There are three main types of schools in the United States: elementary, middle and high schools. Elementary schools educate students in kindergarten through fifth grade (ages 5 through 11). Middle schools educate students in sixth through eighth grades (ages 12 through 14). High schools educate students in ninth grade through twelfth grade (ages 15 through 18). Subjects: Sawsee educators teach in a wide range of subjects which include - Math Science ( all subjects) Special education English Foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Arabic and Latin)
Qualifications:
Eligibility requirements: - U.S. federal government regulations require the selection only of foreign nationals who (1) Meet the qualifications for teaching in primary or secondary schools in his or her country of nationality or legal residence; (2) Satisfy the standards of the U.S. state in which he or she will teach; (3) Are of good reputation and character; (4) Seek to come to the United States for the purpose of full-time teaching at a primary or secondary accredited educational institution in the United States, and (5) Have a minimum of three years of teaching or related professional experience. - Teachers must be capable and comfortable functioning in an English speaking environment (we highly recommends the participant have the equivalent of a 550 TOEFL). - Teachers must demonstrate an interest in and maturity for teaching in another country and culture. - There are no age limits for this program; however, we ask that Partners keep in mind that older teachers may have a more difficult time proving return ties to the country and thus getting a visa.
