High School Principal / Secondary Head Teacher needed ASAP at UK Curriclum school
Kuwait
Length of Position: 1 year contract, renewable
Description:
This is a growing, relatively new secondary school in Kuwait seeking a secondary Head Teacher (High School Principal) for the current school year. We have worked with this school for many years and rate it highly. You will join an experienced expatriate management team. The secondary school serves pupils aged 11-16, soon to be 11-18 as the first group of pupils 'age up'. The school welcomes applications from British, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and South African teachers. British teachers are probably best suited due to the curriculum, but it has been observed that Canadians are proving to be an excellent match too, which has been reinforced by a strong local Canadian expatriate community. The school will also accept newly qualified teachers, if applications reflect a strong and mature independent outlook to cope with a move to an international school and its challenges and high expectations. South African teachers are a popular choice but, as with all teachers, although we say behaviour is good, every teacher must demonstrate a presence in the classroom and set clear parameters of expectations and discipline. The schools are developing; teachers will be part of an exciting plan as the school grows each year. Teachers need to demonstrate cultural awareness and understanding
Highlights:
Kuwait From a nation of pearl divers and spice merchants to one of the world's largest oil exporters, Kuwait has undergone many exciting transformations. A cosmopolitan and modern society that still pays homage to it's heritage and traditions, it is a country of exciting enigmas and colourful contradictions. From the warm waters of the gulf to the mysteries of the desert, and from the traditional Arabian markets to opulent shopping malls, Kuwait is a dynamic and diverse country. With so much to offer and more left to discover.
Qualifications:
We recruit only qualified/certified teachers from the following countries: - United Kingdom - USA - Canada - Ireland - Australia - New Zealand - South Africa Teachers must be fully trained to teach in state schools in one of these countries and possess full qualification/certification with teacher training such as a Bachelors or Masters of Education, PGCE, Higher Diploma in Education, etc. South African teachers with only a diploma of education will have very limited opportunities as most Ministries of Education require a Bachelors degree in Education, and do not like the word Diploma. Please note that these are not jobs teaching English as a foreign language and therefore a TEFL certificate and/or non-educational Bachelors degree alone is not enough. Due to the volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted but if you do not meet the above qualifications you will not be considered.
