Internship and Teaching Programs in China Customized for You!
China
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer, Throughout the year, Trimester, Winter
Length of Position: 3 to 12 months
Dates: Flexible start dates
Description:
The Shortcut to China program is customized to your needs. While the majority of our company relationships are in Business, Law, Media and Government fields, we have the ability to place our clients in nearly any internship field they desire. Should you desire it, we will place you in an English teaching job after we've placed you in an internship. Teaching English is much more lucrative than the stipends paid to most interns - not to mention you will meet interesting people and it's fun! We do offer internships that pay a stipend. Stipends can range from little more than a nominal amount to more than enough to live comfortably. Don't waste your time looking for an internship that pays a stipend - they often pay less than 50 CNY/day which equates to approximately USD 7/day! Many of our interns work approximately 30 hours per week and supplement their income by teaching English 5-10 hours per week. English teaching will typically pay anywhere from USD 8-10 per hour, providing plenty of spending money per week. Some clients work significantly more hours per week teaching in order to save up for trips or other expenses. Shortcut to China includes visa processing in our fee and we can assist you in a housing search as well.
Highlights:
Shortcut to China's program offers * Complete flexibility * Opportunities to make enough money to live comfortably by teaching English * Internships in any field you desire * A customized guide to the city (to get a taste, see all of the great info on our website!) * Logistics support while in Beijing * We staff a helpline in Beijing for our clients - call and get an English speaker to help you out in Beijing!
Qualifications:
In order for Shortcut to China to place you in an internship and/or an English teaching job, we only require you be a native English speaker and to be either in college or a college graduate. Clients of the following nationalities will be given the highest priority by our internship companies (this is out of our control, but a fact of life in China!) * America * Canada * United Kingdom If you are not from one of these countries, don't fret! We can still place you with a company for an internship and an English teaching job. Please just provide us information about your background on your Resume or CV when you upload it on the application page. If you would like to receive college credit for your internship: In most cases, Shortcut to China can offer internship credit as long as you send the Internship requirements of your school to us so we can take care of all the paperwork and make sure you are meeting the required hours to successfully complete the Internship. We have a good rapport with the Career Services Departments in many Universities throughout the United States. It is rather easy for students to receive college credit. The three biggest factors determining how much you will get paid for either interning or teaching are: 1.) Your experience and education 2.) Scheduling 3.) Location within Beijing While there is little we can do about the first factor, we do our best to control the second two in order to ensure our clients are getting the best possible compensation. We also work with our clients to address scheduling and location concerns to ensure our clients are comfortable, safe, and happy.
