This International School was founded in 1997. It is a well established school offering the British curriculum to children of all ages. Pupils achieve high academic standards and compete for places at the best universities in the world. Teachers are recruited worldwide but most of the current staff are from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Teachers are normally offered two year extendable contracts. This is a successful and expanding school. It currently has about 1280 pupils. Children are prepared for GCSE and A-level examinations and entrance to universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US, Malaysia and a number of other countries. It has good discipline and a strong work ethic. The facilities are excellent. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered by enthusiastic staff. Many staff stay for at least two contracts.

Please note: It is not possible for a wife to support a dependent husband in Brunei.

Highlights: Brunei is a very small but, thanks to oil and gas reserves, a very rich country. There are plenty of things to do in Brunei. As a modern, wealthy country, it has all the amenities you might expect at home, such as well stocked supermarkets (selling home favourites including Marmite, Vegemite and bacon); well equipped gyms; large, landscaped swimming pools; and a vast selection of high quality restaurants. There is no shortage of beautiful beaches in Brunei, where you can enjoy a range of water sports with few of the crowds you might find elsewhere.

* Initial salary in the region of BD 1,950 to BD 3,700 per month net depending on qualifications and experience, with incremental scale maximum to BD 4,400 - the Brunei dollar is linked to Singapore dollar and is readily convertible. Allowances are payable for additional responsibilities.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Education or a degree with teaching certificate, e.g. PGCE or a teaching license.
* Please note a TEFL certificate alone is not sufficient.
