Paid Teaching Positions in Nepal

Description: Your Activities as an English Teacher:

As a paid volunteer working in English teaching project, you will work in private schools. The size of the class is usually around 20 to 35 students. You will teach English 4-5 hours a day from Sunday to Friday. You might also be asked to train local teachers and take part in other activities like games, painting, music, sanitation, computers and arts. Most schools in Nepal follow fixed courses for teaching English. You're welcome to teach extra also.

School and working Hours

The volunteer teachers are placed in both the private schools and public schools where as the paid teachers are placed only in the private schools. To participate in this program:

* Non-native speakers of English volunteers should have trainings on related subjects which will be extra asset for them and
* Native speakers of English are highly preferred who can participate in this program without any training.

Pocket Money:

The paid teachers will be provided 150 to 200 USD monthly as pocket money, which will cover their general living expenses in Nepal.

* Statement of purpose (in it they have to mention why and how long they want to teach, which subject they want and what their academic qualifications and experiences are)

Paid Teaching Positions in Nepal

Highlights: Arrangement of Room/Food/Supervision

CDP-Nepal manages your entire accommodation, food and supervision during your stay. You will stay either with a host family or in a school hostel. In the school hostel, you'll share room with other volunteers and use communal toilets. You'll be served 3 meals a day. Meals in the hostel can be local or continental. In the host family, you'll have a room for yourself and will be served 3 local meals a day. Staying with a host family provides you with a wonderful opportunity for you to experience Nepali lifestyle. You can even learn to cook Nepali food. Our staffs will visit you your placement in every week. During the visit, we will check on your progress and make sure you're satisfied.

Qualifications:
* Prior experience in teaching English is desired.
* You'll need to have sound communication skills in English.
* Flexible, self-motivated and have a strong willingness to learn and take new initiatives.
