Length of Position: Two Years

Description: Our school is located near the tourist resort of Antigua, Guatemala. We are a small school. We currently provide an American Education with Christian values to 80 students ages 2-12. The Elementary school hours are from 7:15 to 3:15 and the Pre-School hours are 7:15 to 1:00. Teachers have an average of 1 planning period a day. We teach the Curriculum of California. We use American textbooks and have a library and computer lab with lots of educational resources.

The salary for the Director is USD 1,500 monthly for a two-year contract starting August 1, 2010. A renewal for another two-year contract we will provide a raise and a bonus. We also offer housing in the school vicinity. Other benefits can be discussed during the interview. Experience teaching and directing a school overseas is a must.

We offer USD 800 monthly and a two-year contract for teachers starting August 15, 2010. We offer shared housing with another teacher in the school's vicinity. We also offer the personal days needed for you to renew your visa every 3 months. We cover for the cost of the visa.

You travel to Guatemala on your own and arrange your own transportation to school. Teachers in the past have bought or rented a decent used car which can be bought for 3-4 thousand dollars or rented for about USD150 a month. Other teachers have shared the car and split the cost.
